Fever 1793, by Laurie Halse Anderson

Amazing Well Told Story

Fever 1793 is about a girl called Mattie who is living at the time of the Philadelphia yellow fever epidemic. Fever 1793 is geared towards young aduts. Mattie is a 12 year old girl who lives/works in a coffeehouse. As you may expect, her life is not that exciting. Mattie is frequently bored. Mattie lives with her mother and grandfather. Even though Mattie is only Mattie is only 12, her mother dreams of finding a husband for her. When the yellow fever strikes Mattie needs to learn to survive in a city infested with it. I thought Fever 1793 was a very good book. Fever 1793 is historical fiction. My favorite genre is historical fiction. Five Stars. Have a great day!! -annaleeliz and Buttons
