Hoot, by Carl Hiassen

Hoot is about a kid named Roy who tries to save some endangered burrowing owls. Hoot is geared towards young adults. Roy gets bullied because he is from Montana. No one else in Trace Middle School is from Montana. Roy befriends a homeless boy called Mullet Fingers. Roy, Beaterice, and Mullet Fingers will try to save the owls. Mother Paula’s Pancakes is opening a pancake house over the burrowing owls ‘dens. Mullet Fingers has been trying hard to stop them but gets hurt. Hoot teaches that anyone can make a difference. I thought Hoot was a great book. Five Stars. I am sorry for the shorter post today but I am excited about Easter. Happy Easter!!! -annaleeliz and Buttons
