This book was adorable. I loved it. I mean, look at the cover. Isn’t that so cute? I think that it is adorable. All the characters are so cute, the plot is amazing and the art work is beautiful. Honestly is there any reason for anyone to not read this book?

All the characters are beautifully drawn and written. Everyone in this book is so cute that my heart wants to melt. I want to live in this world of happiness and friendship and love. Everyone was so nice in this book. If only the people in this world where that nice. There were lots of little dragon types as well. All of those were adorable as well. I think that there was not much room for improvement in the characters. Even the side characters were very detailed and as good as the other characters. My favorite character was Minette. The pink haired deer person that you see on the cover. She was so sweet and she cared more then she let on. My only issue with the characters was that you did not know how old they were. I don’t know why this annoyed me but it did. So, the characters were very good except for one small issue.

The plot was very good as well. It was not one of the classic adventure stories that I usually read and review on here, but it was awesome none the less. The main characters learned about many things, like friendship and responsibility. I thought that was important because kids need to know how to do these things. As do some grown ups. I am curious about whether there will be a sequel or not. I hope there will be but this book could work either way. I know that most people will say that this book is for little kids why should I read it, but it teaches some important things here people. And it is very easy to read. I have never read manga before but I think that this book is a good example of it. Tell me if I am wrong. Honestly, what I am trying to say here is this: READ THE BOOK PEOPLE!!!!! IT IS AMAZING!!!! Please take my advice and read it.

I went into this book not knowing that it was a graphic novel. That shocked me. But I got over it quickly. This book was very engrossing and it drew me in very quickly. I enjoyed the story very much. It was cute and sweet and really really short. But I am sure that you do not want to listen to my ramblings all day so to move this along let’s go on to the characters.

I loved all the characters. They were very realistic and behaved as most of us would have if we were in there. The golden robotic horse was my favorite of all the characters. The characters grew up a lot (because most of them were kids) and learned more about themselves and how to protect what they believe is right. That is always good in a book. The main characters were very funny. I laughed a lot during the book and with the illustrations the book was even funnier. I think that the side characters could have been more detailed. They were really generic and we did not learn about them as much as we learned about the main characters. That is the only issue I had with the main characters. Otherwise they were really realistic, funny, and just really sweet.

The plot was interesting. I was curious about how the aliens got on Earth but it never said that. Like I said earlier, this was only a hundred and fifty pages so Nathan never got to do the backstory. I was sort of annoyed at this but the book made up for it by being action – packed. The art work was very detailed and accurate and that was good. It was very interesting to hear about the caravan that the technology savers traveled in. You could tell that this book was set far in the future because of all the high – tech robots it had. This book also taught a life lesson. I am not going to tell you what it is because once you finish the book you will figure it out yourself.

Renegades, by Marissa Meyer — November 23, 2017

Renegades, by Marissa Meyer

downloadThe Renegades are prodigies, humans with extraordinary powers. Who appeared out of the ruins of an old society and provided peace and happiness where fear and chaos had once reigned.  To this day the Renegades remain a symbol of hope and justice to everyone.  Except the people they once overthrew.  Nova has good reason to hate the Renegades. She is ready for vengeance. Bout as she gets closer to her target she wonders if she is doing the right thing.

Ok so I loved this book. It was really awesome and (I didn’t know that I would be saying this when I first started reading) inspiring.  A heads up. This post is going to be short because it is Thanksgiving!!!!

I loves the characters. They were so sweet and funny. Even the villains were not all bad. That made me happy. The villains were sort of cheesy though. I was not even able to properly wish that they were dead.  Although I suppose that was kind of the point. Another thing that I liked was how on of the two main characters had same gender parents. Two dads! That touched my heart becuase we do not get that lot in stories. So the two main characters were on different sides and there were two main points of view. I think we could have done without Adrian’s viewpoint.

The plot was really sort of interesting. Marissa Meyer lives up to expectations there. There were plot twists and tragic backstories and everything. I was gasping a lot because of all of that. Some parts made me smile and some parts made me feel really sad. There was an aura of mystery and suspense around the whole book. I loved that though. I can’t wait for the next book to come. It will take a whole year?!!! Well I can’t wait for that. Let’s hope that I can get an ARC before that.

I did tell you that this would be short today. Remember to fill out my survey!!! You can find the link on my about page. Remember to Read!!! Thanks for Reading!!! Have a Great Thanksgiving (to all the people in the USA)!!!! -Annalee and Buttons

This book was very sweet. I mean it wasn’t all unicorns and rainbows but it was a good contemporary. It was a rough, harsh, contemporary like The Hate You Give. It was sweet and a classic contemporary. If you have not read it you should.

The characters were very realistic. I enjoyed the sister dynamic very much. The sister dynamic was very realistic and well done.  I felt like you could have met any of these characters on the street and just walked past them without noticing that they were the characters in the book. That is what I would want in a contemporary. I loved all of the the characters because they were so sweet.  I hope that the next characters in the next book that I read are as good.

The plot was very good as well. I enjoyed it very much. The plot was realistic, which is the point of contemporary books, and I loved that. There is a competition between this book and The Hate You Give for best contemporary book of 2017. With all these great books coming out who knows what my favorite book in all will be for 2017. Everything in this book will make you feel some pretty strong emotions. So if you don’t like feeling the feels then you should not reads this book.

Sorry for the short review. I am really busy today.  Please remember to fill out my survey. You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!!!! Have a Great Day!!! -Annalee and Buttons

SCYTHE, by Neal Shusterman — November 21, 2017

SCYTHE, by Neal Shusterman

th (1)In this futuristic novel the could is called the Thunderhead and everyone is immortal. Well, technically everyone was immortal. There were people called scythes who had the job to take life. Citra and Rowan are chosen to be scythes when they grow up. They to not want to do it but they have to. In the end the one who fails has to kill the other.

Design O

I had mixed feelings about this book. Some parts were better then others. I had really high hopes for this book but it did not meet them. I think that I will read the next book and see what happens.

Citra was my favorite main character in the book. She was solid, strong, and determined. She knew what she wanted to do and achieved it. I thought that Citra should have been smarter though. She did not see things that were obvious to me.  Citra could have been better. Now, for Rowan.  Rowan was a mystery to me. After the middle of the book, where Rowan changed scythes, he said he hated what he was doing but he was clearly enjoying himself. I mean really Rowan. Get your life together. My favorite character in this whole book was Scythe Marie Curie. She was nice, had her priorities together, and was compassionate to everyone. Everybody else in the book was not as good as what I had hoped.

The plot was also odd. I was confused half the time because the characters were going on errands that had no relevance to the story and some things were just thrown in for the shock. I enjoy reading futuristic novels but this seemed like on of those post Hunger Games books during the fad. Most of the books during that were not that good. Some parts were really fast paced and others were not as fast. The mixed pacing confused me and I hated that. But on the bright side everything was vivid and realistic. I am hope that some people liked this book. It was just not for me.  Design O

So this book confused me. I did not like it as much as I had hoped that I would. I hope that anyone who has read this book liked it. Please remember to fill out my survey. You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!!! Have a Great Day!!!! -Annalee and Buttons

Vengeance Road, by Erin Bowman

thWhen Kate’s father dies she decides that the proper thing to do is to go avenge her father’s murders. She finds out that the gang who killed her father is called the Rose Riders. While hunting down the Rose Riders Kate makes a gang of her own, two boys and an Apache girl. Kate and her new friends discover many things. Things that should have stayed hidden…

Design O

First off I loved this book so much. I had a hard time putting it down. All the characters were really descriptive and real. The plot was a never ending line of action and you could tell that the author did a lot of research because everything was factually correct and real. I could be done with this review right now but I am going into detail.

First off I loved all the characters. They were super realistic and… human. I mean, sometimes some characters can do no wrong and I hate those characters. They are one of the reasons I give a book a low rating. But these characters were not. Kate was really human, she made mistakes, she got annoyed, she yelled at people, and then she apologized and fixed her problems. She was super relatable. The boys were relatable too. But, my favorite character was Liluye. I enjoyed learning about her culture and life. She was also really sweet and helped out even when she didn’t have to. That melted my heart. I loved all these characters. If you read books for the characters read this book.

The plot was one of the best action – packed plots I have ever read. Detailed, suspenseful, lots of action, etc. You will love this book if you enjoy awesome plots. His book was very suspenseful, which meant that I did not want to go to sleep. I just wanted to keep reading. So if you have a lot of time on your hands, read this book. I thought that this book was just the right length. There was just the right amount of action for the number of pages in the book. I enjoyed this book and I think that there is something in this book for everyone. So I recommend this book to everyone.

I loved this book and I hope that you do too. Please remember to fill out my survey. You can find the link on my about page.  Thanks for Reading!!!!! Have a Great Day!!! -Annalee and Buttons

Prodigy Prince, by Natasha Sapienza — November 14, 2017

Prodigy Prince, by Natasha Sapienza

NEW Prodigy-Prince-Amazon-Ebook-2

Thank you to Natasha Sapienza for generously sending me this book through Overdrive. All opinions are my own.

After Nulle’s brother leaves his father sends him to the Academy to find the original Acumen and learn from it. Nuelle does exactly that. He follows the book to the letter. (Get my pun) As he does this he learns things that change and break him. But in time… they might make him stronger.

This book was moderate. It was not great yet it was not terrible. I am sure that from that one sentence you can tell what the ratting will be. Sorry but I am still going to write a review.

The characters were OK. Like I said above this book was not great nor was it bad. The main character, Nulle, was bland. He had just enough description to make him a good character but not enough to make that amph into the love that character, I wish he was my boyfriend mode. One of the things that I enjoyed is all the creatures. I loved them all but they did not play an important enough role to warm my heart to much. The characters were like this emoji:😶.

The plot moved a little to fast for my liking.  I think that the author could have added a hundred or so pages to the book and that would have added so much to the book. The characters would have been better, the plot would have been better if it was slower. The plot idea was very good. I enjoyed it a lot. It was not anything like any other story that I have read. This book had the potential to be great. Even though it was not as good as I hoped that it would be, Prodigy Prince was still an intriguing read. I will stay tuned for a sequel.  I suggest it for a pleasure read that you read for fun not for writing style.

Even though this book did not live up to what I hoped it was still a fun read. Please remember to fill out my survey!!!! You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!! Have a Great Day!! -Annalee and Buttons

Wild Beauty, by Anna-Marie McLemore — November 12, 2017

Wild Beauty, by Anna-Marie McLemore

download (32)For a century the Nomeolvides women have cared for the gardens of La Pradera. The grow beautiful flowers that enchant guests from around the world. But at a steep price. La Pradera never let’s them leave. It also takes away their lovers. The newest generation of Nomelvides girls does not want their lovers to be taken. So they make offerings into the ground and out of it comes a boy. They do not know who he is. The only clue they have is a piece of fabric tied to his shirt that says Fel. The girls try to find pout who Fel is and why he is here. In doing this they uncover secrets that no one had ever dreamed of.

Okay. This book was mystifying. It shocked me to the deepest level. It was so detailed and I rooted for the characters all the way. The book had me in tears in the middle and end because it was so sad. This book is one of those books that you have to have a certain mindset before going in and reading it. But enough of my rambling let’s get on with the review.

The characters were so diverse. They don’t say this in the summary which I think is why you need to be in a certain mindset going into this book but Wild Beauty is a LBTQ book. I think that you need to know that going into this book. I did not know that so when I started reading I was a little bit shocked at first. All the characters were wonderful. They were all super realistic and fought like ordinary sisters. I loved the dynamics between them. My favorite character was Gloria. She was really down to Earth and tried to do what was best for her sisters/cousins. Everyone in the book is very real and it made me so happy. Even though I should not have been happy because everyone was suffering. The characters were the best part of the story. By the end I wished that I had met them.

The plot was also pretty good but it went to slow for my taste. It all went slow until suddenly bang this happened and that happened and it was all crammed into the ending of the book. But the other part of the plot were two characters realizing that they were more then just friends. That part of the plot did not go slow. That part went at the right pace. Instead of starting the plot twist and everything else early on the author sent them all on these mini adventurers. I loved the mini adventures but I was waiting for the big bang.  When that came I was relieved. I was starting to get worried that it would never happen. It did though. Now I am rambling.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. It made me a little upset about how slow it was going but I got over it. Please remember to film out my survey. You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!! Have a Great Day!!!! -Annalee and Buttons

Now let’s get started.

Angelica’s Questions

  1. What is your favorite to cuddle up with on a rainy day: Honestly, I would have to go with the whole Harry Potter series. I love that series. I will read it anywhere and anytime.
  2. What fictional character would you like to marry, if there is one: Honestly, I would have to go with Azriel in A Court Of Wings and Ruin! I love him!!!!
  3. Music while you read, yes or no: I have to go with yes.  As long as it does not have any words in it. I will listen to classical stuff on the violin.
  4. What’s your favorite genre: It has to be YA Fantasy. A close second is YA dystopian. I hope I spelled that right. Most of my favorite books are in these two genres.
  5. If you could meet any author, dead or alive, who would it be: It would be J. K. Rowling, hands down. I love her so much. I just want to be her!!!!
  6. Love Triangles, yes or no: If the love triangle is done well then it is a yes. If the live triangle is horrible then it is a no.
  7. Have you ever read an ARC: Yes. Once. For a blog tour.  I requested lots of them from Penguin Teen for the spring but they have not gotten back to me yet.
  8. What book can you absolutely not stand: I could not stand the Red Queen series. I read the first book and it was horrible. Then I read the second book to see if it was any better and I don’t know how it happened but it got worse. So I will never pick up the third book and I recommend you to never read these books.
  9. What is your OTP, if you have one:  Sorry I don’t have one so I can’t say one!!
  10. What book would you love to be seen turned into a movie: A Court Of Thorns And Roses. I hear that it is going to be turned into a movie I just don’t know when that is happening?
  11. What villain can you not help but love: In the beginning of Harry Potter, before Voldermort comes out and becomes the main villain I loved Draco Malfoy. I was just rooting for him the first half of the first book. Then I stopped. Sorry Draco.

My Questions

  1. If you could have any pet in the world what would it be?
  2. What book would you love to jump into for an hour?
