Sasquatch, Love, and Other Imaginary Things, by Betsy Aldredge and Carrie DuBois – Shaw

download (1)Sam Berger, seventeen, joins her family on a reality-television show, competing against a school of preparatory students to find evidence of Bigfoot, but the teams may find love, instead.

I loved this book!!! I thought that it was very funny and realistic too. Even though most of us won’t be starring on reality TV shows. Everything about this book was light and fluffy. If you are ever feeling sad you should pick up this book because it will get you smiling in no time, it sure did for me. So if you want something that will get you beaming and laughing you should really read this book.

The characters were realistic. I thought that the three sisters was new and also… (you guessed it) realistic. I know this because I have two younger sisters. I also loved Devan. He was so sweet and (my mind is drawing a blank here because I can’t think of any words to describe how awesome he is). If I remember what I was going to write I will do it later. I liked the relationships were not like the “love at first sight” which never happens. Just stop writing it people. Unless you are writing about the mating bond and the Fae. Then it is allowed. All of the characters were so different. I especially liked Beth, the assistant director, who had autism. And the fact that she stood up for her rights and for what she believed in. We need more characters like that in YA books. Now more then ever.

The plot was very good. I don’t read very many books about Sasquatch, or Bigfoot, or whatever people call him. So I didn’t know what to think about this book before I read it except that a lot of people had liked it and that it was about Sasquatch. Great way to choose a book, Annalee. I liked how it gave that build each other up, not tear each other down feel. I loved the fight for what you believe in vibe as well. This book was way shorter then I expected. I expected a 350 page book but instead I got a 270 page book. I thought that it would be crammed in and way to fast pace but instead it was exactly the right pace. Slow enough that I remember it and fast enough that I didn’t get bored and mentally tell the book to hurry itself up. The setting was very well done. Especially the wilderness. That was done perfectly. The book was perfect!!!

Read the book!!!!! *throws book at unsuspecting person while screaming at them to read it* Just read the book!!!! As you can tell I love this book and if you haven’t read this book already you should. Please remember to fill out my survey!!!! You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!!! Have a Great Day!!!! -Annalee and Buttons

  1. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY. I’m so so so glad that you liked this! Your review was wonderful, Annalee, and it was exactly how I felt about it, too! It was so much fun, and you’re right that it didn’t cram everything in it for it being a short book. And you’re so right about no love at first sight and how it needs to stop it. Loved reading this, and your comments were quite funny. 😉 Great review! ❤
