In a secret organization that cultivates teenage spies, the stakes are high for two agents, Caden and Dylan, whose mission to compete for a girl destined for great power becomes complicated when Caden finds himself falling in love with his competition.
This book was not as good as I hoped that it would be. It wasn’t the love story/spy story that I was hoping for. But this is what I get for wanting the impossible. The characters, plot, and setting were mediocre. I didn’t really enjoy the book but I did hold out hope. One thing is for sure though. It was way better than Red Queen. If you want to hear more of my thoughts then you should read on.
The characters were (as I said above) mediocre. They weren’t terrible, but they weren’t very good either. The love story wasn’t very very realistic and some of the characters were just plain annoying. On the other hand, I enjoyed some of the characters very much and they became very dear to me over the course of the book. And the rest of the characters were somewhere in between. I think that most of the characters could have been way better.
I’m going to skip the favorite character paragraph today because I didn’t have a favorite character. They were all either good, bad, or in between. The plot was okay. It was a very interesting concept. I enjoyed the dialogue and the humor. The pacing was a little bit slow. There weren’t really any character arcs in this book which was very annoying. I did enjoy the action scenes when they were in the book. There was some planning and it was balanced with the action. There was lots of flirting and match-making in this book, so if you don’t like that then you shouldn’t read this book.
The setting was the best part of this book. I wish that there was a little more backstory about the Love Interests themselves and the institution that they worked for. The setting was very descriptive and I could imagine myself with the characters. I really enjoyed examining everything and learning about what backstory I was able to figure out. Some of the settings were confusing. I won’t get into the details but it made me want to throw the book across the room.
Sorry for the short review today. I can’t say I recommend this book. I hope that you enjoyed this book more than I did. Please remember to fill out my survey. You can find the link on my about page. Thanks for Reading!!!! Have a Great Day!!! -Annalee and Buttons
